A Modern Organic Kitchen Built Around Natural Materials

This Los Angeles kitchen pairs natural, unstained oak cabinetry with a single bold color move a sage green island finished in a waterfall-edge marble-look countertop. Three ribbed glass globe pendants hang above the island, echoing the organic, hand-finished feel of the cabinetry below. A stainless farmhouse sink and wide-plank oak flooring keep the palette warm and grounded, while wood-framed folding glass doors open the kitchen directly onto the backyard, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living.

A Full Kitchen Reconfiguration with an Open Floor Plan

The renovation reworked the kitchen layout around a single sage green island, replacing a closed-off plan with an open sightline into the adjoining great room. Custom oak cabinetry runs floor-to-ceiling along the perimeter, with dedicated panel-ready niches for major appliances and a farmhouse sink positioned beneath a garden window.

Natural Wood Tones Balanced by a Bold Sage Accent

Natural oak cabinetry was selected to stay unstained, letting the wood's grain and warmth carry the room. Against that backdrop, the sage green island reads as a deliberate, confident accent rather than a clash — a modern-organic pairing that softens the traditional bones of the home with a more current palette.

Why Denali?

Removed two non-bearing walls and reinforced the ceiling with a 24-foot LVL beam to open the original galley kitchen into the dining and family rooms. New white oak cabinetry, honed marble counters, and a 48-inch range anchor the space.
