About Us

We hired Tom to do our major reconstruction project in our Berkeley home. It was two bathrooms , the entire house painting ,lighting and a couple rooms to had complete new wiring done. The crew did an excellent job , the quality of work is what we were looking for, and it was at a reasonable cost. We always try to go with the middle path. The total project was delivered a week over schedule, which was understandable due to a few hiccups, but the team was a good sport. We did have changed plans and added few projects during the construction phase, and it made us very happy to do so because the reasonable and accommodating they were with the change orders. They always discussed everything with us, suggested their ideas and thoughts and made things go smooth once we all agreed.

After working with a different contractor on our main bathroom remodel, we knew we didn’t want to continue working with them. So we started searching again and after interviewing several different companies, we met Tomer, of Denali Builders. What a difference! We have had a wonderful experience with Denali. They went above and beyond the call of duty, and gave us exactly what we were looking for. If we had any problem with how something was turning out, they quickly pivoted and made the correction. While we won’t miss living in a construction zone, we will miss the team. It has been a true pleasure to have them in our home and we look forward to continuing our friendship with them. As the kitchen is currently in use, I will add photos later once, the dinner dishes have been cleaned up.

Tom is a man of integrity! When I contacted him for a “small” fireplace project (removing the old fireplace and inserting an electric one), I was really impressed that he worked with our modest budget with FULL service mentality. He did not nickel and dime us and stood by his original quote. It’s hard to come by this kind of integrity and simple honest work these days, and we appreciated it. Another thing to note is that he was extremely responsive and hands-on in his communication, and throughout the project. He was resourceful and helped me find the right stone tiles, and provided creative solutions to cut costs. At the end of the project, he was even making sure to pick up the last piece of debris from our house and scrubbing the tiles to leave it looking shiny and nice. His contractors were also all so pleasant and hard workers – I’m sure it’s because Tom shows respect for their work and maintains great working relationships with them. Hiring a contractor to remodel, can be challenging. We sometimes experience over inflated cost and poor quality work. Because of these reasons, I let my home become outdated and in need of repair. In desperation, I stepped out on faith and reached out for a contractor. I obtained several bids. Some were on the higher end, with sample supplies that were of poor quality, two contractors arrived that were not very nice in demeanor. One with a low bid which could not be believed, related to the amount of work which needed to be done. Overwhelmed with all the bids, Tom arrived. Tom gave a honest, fair, and nonjudgmental bid for the amount of work that needed to be done. During the process, we were able establish a trustworthy relationship because of their professionalism and considerate nature. The remodel was fabulous, so much nicer than anticipated, quality of work, excellent. So pleased with the project, I updated a second bathroom and my basement, very pleased with those two areas as well. Now waiting on the kitchen project completion .

I was looking for a local contractor to redo my basement. I was a little skeptical when doing this work for I live in San Francisco and the plumbing was a huge issue. None the less after getting 4 estimates I decided to choose the middle one. That was a very good decision in the end. Tom showed me the issues that might happen and showed me a whole picture of what to expect. In the end of the project, everything he said he delivered and was correct. Although we did have a few hiccups, I was not pleased with, but he did come back and fix it in a timely manner.

I enjoyed working with Tom and the crew very much. He was extremely helpful and walked me through each step of the way. It was my first Remodeling experience so I needed someone with a lot patience and time.

Working with Mike and the entire team was a great experience. We experienced ourselves, and heard of many horrible stories about homeowners and contractors having so much issues and feuds during their remodels in general that it took us a while to pull the trigger. Thus, we were very skeptical at first no matter who we ended up signing with. With Mike however he gave us a lot of trust and assurance, and that helped us with our decision making. So we ended up with proceeding the project with him. This process did take us a couple of weeks, to build a connection and check his honesty and communication skills. Mike over the others that we had interviewed, did not provide us with the best price we gathered, we had lower ones and higher ones. He was in the middle range, so we felt it was very fair. Also we never take the lower bids no matter what, we learnded over timewhy not to do that. Mike did help us through each step in the process of this journey, each time we needed him. Sometimes he was not available, but the office was there to help in the meantime. The team showed up on time each day (couple times they where very late) and made great progress. The entire kitchen project was knocking down two walls for an open concept, installing new flooring and a complete remodel of our 50 year old kitchen. Mike did tell us it will take about 9 weeks. It ended up being 10. I wont make that a big deal for it was a big job and they were on it so I understand. I must say, the quality and transparency and care were on par. I would highly recommend giving Mike a chance, my husband and I wouldn't hesitate to give him jobs in the future.

Tom and his crew were simply amazing! They have a meticulous eye for detail, had brilliant cost saving ideas that made our home look even better than before, and they finished well within schedule! I would definitely work with Denali Builders & Design for any future projects! Thanks Tom!

I chose Tom for a few reasons. From the three bids that we received, I liked and trusted him the most. I having a background in construction myself, I was able to test him, as I did with everyone else. And I valued his honesty and work ethics. He was very good with explaining and answered most of my questions before I ask them. His. His price was reasonable as well. As for the end results, my wife and I were very happy and ended up giving him another job. The initial job was a shared bathroom. And later on we hire Tom to do the master bathroom which came out amazing!
